Book DescriptionGerri can't decide what's more devastating: learning her rock-solid marriage has big cracks, or the anger she feels as she tries to repair the damage. Always the anchor for friends and her three angst-ridden teenagers, it's time to look carefully at herself. The journey for Gerri and her family is more than revealing—it's transforming.

Andy doesn't have a great track record with men, and she's come to believe that for her a lasting love is out of reach. When she finds herself attracted to her down-to-earth, ordinary contractor—a man without any of the qualities that usually appeal to her—she questions everything she thought she wanted in life.

Sonja's lifelong pursuit of balance is shattered when her husband declares he's through with her New Age nonsense and walks out. There's no herbal tonic or cleansing ritual that can restore her serenity—or her sanity.

Miraculously, it's BJ, the reserved newcomer to Mill Valley, who steps into their circle and changes everything. The woman with dark secrets opens up to her neighbors, and together they get each other back on track, stronger as individuals and unfaltering as friends.

My thoughts:  In three weeks, three friends and neighbors have their marriages fall apart.  The women are different personalities who enjoy walking together in the mornings.  They do not have a perfect friendship, they understand each other and get along well enough.  All of them fall somewhere in their 30's or 40's.

The women do their best to help each other through their relationship crisis.  All three women have  unique circumstances when it comes to the failure of their relationships.  One has a husband who is a habitual cheater, one has a husband who made a bad mistake years ago, and the last husband is fed up with living a lifestyle that he doesn't desire.

As the last wife, Sonja, is falling apart, another neighbor is brought into the group.  She lends a hand and is reluctantly pulled into contact/friendship with the others.

This book takes a look at relationships.  It  looks at the women when they are at an emotional low and shows how they are able to help each other.  It also looks at the dynamic of a family.

This book contains profanity and adult content.

  1. Thanks for the content warning! I really appreciate it. I swear reading that description was like a glimpse into a few of my friends lives. It's so sad when life doesn't go the way you planned. It sounds interesting!
