Book Description: Drew Westfall wants nothing more than to forget what he had to do in the name of "smart" business. Cutting off all ties with his parents—including handing over the entire contents of his trust fund to a charity—he takes off for Bridger, Colorado where his best friend has an extra room for him. It doesn't take long for him to realize that his business degree won’t do him much good in a town as small as Bridger, but he's broke and has nowhere else to go.
Eden Torresi has every reason to wallow. Not only did she have to sell her house to pay for her mother’s medical expenses, but she had to drop out of school and is in a relationship with a guy unwilling to commit. But Eden isn't the wallowing type. Instead, she spends most of her time taking care of the seniors at Silver Linings Assisted Living. When she learns that her boyfriend's new roommate is down on his luck, she reaches out to offer what help she can. But the more time they spend together, the more complicated things get, especially when the seniors of Silver Linings decide to play matchmaker.
My thoughts: This is the second book in the Ripple Effect Romance series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but for me it was fun to see a character from the fist book have his own happy ending.
Drew is disillusioned. He comes from a family of wealth and privilege. He faces a situation of letting an employee go who desperately needed his job. His heart tells him that it is wrong to put profit before people. Facing this emotional crisis, he decides to leave the family business and find a place and job that work for him.
Driving through a small town in Colorado in the winter, he has an accident and looks for help in the freezing weather. He stumbles upon a retirement home, Silver Linings. It is here that he finds himself and a Eden, a young woman who is also having an emotional battle.
I loved the characters in this book. Drew and Eden are just great people. You can't help but like them. The gem in the book was the residents of the retirement home. They are fabulous. They are loving and conniving. It was perfect!
This is a wonderful book/series to get lost into. I look forward to the rest of the series! It's also clean romance.
