Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book Description: Committed to saving his marriage before it starts, doctoral student Nick Cairn embarks on a project aimed at finding the secrets of everlasting love. But when Moire DeLanthe, a smart and sassy research assistant, enters the picture, his Happily Ever After is put to the ultimate test.
My Thoughts: I admit, I was intrigued with the idea of a man writing a romance book. I think many run when they see a romance book in the vicinity. (OK, maybe it's just my husband and sons.) ;0)
This book is told from the male protagonists point of view. That was very refreshing for me. When it comes to romance most of us are familiar with the female pov. This approach really worked. I loved the change.
What I had a hard time with, was the fiancee. Nick is too trusting. I kept wondering when he would realize what a looser she was and see the jewel in front of him. Yes, I thought his research assistant, Moire, was one of the best characters in the book. She was genuine and full of life and fun. Just what a man working on his doctorate dissertation needs.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun read, with a different perspective. It's clean too!
