My thoughts: Seth and Erin unwittingly find themselves in the middle of an ancient curse. It turns out that they were chosen before their birth to be protectors of a seer stone, an large diamond.
They must overcome personal and supernatural obstacles to fulfill their quest and have an eternity together as soul mates. Not only their future and eternity depend on them succeeding, but their choices impact the future.
This is a very interesting and intricate book. There are plots within the plots. The ancient and modern civilization are full of greedy and self serving characters. It's hard for them to pick out the facts from all of the situations that are thrown at them.
I love the idea in the story of having a destiny before birth, that can be accepted or rejected in mortality. The romantic side of me appreciates and enjoys the idea of soul mates. Someone that you will be truly happy with for eternity.
This book took me a while to read. There are many things that you have to digest to understand. It's not one to sit down and fly through. This is a book to ponder as you read.
There was some swearing and pre-marital sex without details.
