My thoughts: This is a beautiful book. Each letter of the alphabet is used to describe a characteristic of China. both mythological and historical.
The author uses an easy rhyming pattern to add to her message and the pictures. Kids will have fun picking out the rhyming words as the learn It is easy to follow and a great way to introduce children to the Chinese culture.
Robyn Chance also tells a personal side to the story in the introduction. I loved learning how she came to love the land of China and felt inspired to write this children's book. She adopted a child from China and enjoyed her time there.
