Book Description: Will protecting children throughout the world cost Natasha her own family?
Devastated by the loss of her brother, Natasha Senecot works to expose the dangers of Matthew Chrysler’s violent video games, succeeding in bankrupting and humiliating him.
Chrysler retaliates and sends a hit man after her. Natasha is forced to fake her own death to protect her children, but after witnessing another tragedy, Natasha won’t hide any longer.
In a race against time, can Natasha expose Matthew Chrysler before his assassin murders her family and shatters her world?
My thoughts: Natasha is a mother first and foremost. Her priority is her children. She is also a blogger who tries to protect children from the machinations of an unscrupulous man who creates violent video games with subliminal messages to teach children to kill. Long sentence, but accurate.
Matthew Chrysler's goal is to stop Natasha from ruining his lucrative plans. He sends his best hit man, Alex to kill her. What he didn't expect is the respect that Alex has for her and his attraction to her.
What ensues is an interesting "relationship" that Alex and Natasha have. It's a cat and mouse game, but the cat is also looking out for the mouse. It's as if he is playing with is prey until he decides the best plan of attack.
More complications make the story one not to be put down. The ex-husband and the cop want to be a part of Natasha's life. The ex-husband, Tony, realizes the mistake he made when he let her go. He wants to be a part of her life and the father that his two children need. The police officer knows that Tony is a fool.
I don't believe that I have stated any spoilers in what I have written. There are many plot twists that even though you know what the objectives of the story are, you are kept guessing and reading! I started this book at 10 pm, not my brightest moment. I forced myself to stop reading at midnight and was back at the book at 6 am. I honestly didn't know if I would be able to fall asleep, I was so caught up in the book.
There is violence and kissing in the book.

A deep voice resonated through the phone lines. “Stop lying
to your son. Of course there are people who are all bad.”
Her heart paused for a few beats and then resounded so
loudly she was certain the man on the other end could hear it. “Who is this?”
she whispered, not needing or wanting the answer. It can’t be him. Please not him.
“It’s the bad man.” He chuckled. “I came back.”
Natasha sprinted from the kitchen, clinging to the phone.
Jace tried to follow. “Stay with your sister,” she yelled, jabbing a finger at
Lily. “Don’t leave her.”
She flew to the patio door—the deadbolt was secure. She
wanted to cry. She wanted to scream. She wanted to protect her children from
this bad man.
She ran for the garage entry. Her fingers shook, but she
managed to click the deadbolt into place. He’s
probably miles away. We’re safe. We’re safe.
“You can try to lock me out, Natasha, but I’ll be here. Your
ex-husband isn’t around to protect you.” He snickered. “As if he could stop
me.”
How could he hear their conversation? How could he see her?
He wasn’t miles away. Was he already in the house? She hurried back through the
great room. Her eyes swept each corner. What
should I do? Her brain screamed the answer. Call for help. She had to get hold of Detective Bentley. He could
protect them. She should check the front door first, but she always kept it locked.
She had to find her cell phone.
Jace pretended to play with Lily, clinging to a tiny teacup.
He watched his mother with wide eyes. His chin quivered. Natasha tried to
smile. “It’s all right,” she said, frantically searching for her cell.
“It’s not all right, Natasha,” the voice said. “You’ve been
posting to your blog again.”
“Where are you?” she screamed. Resting the phone against her
shoulder, she grabbed the knife off the counter.
His voice came low and husky. “I’m close.”
No! The knife
trembled in her hand. Cell phone, cell
phone. Where is the stupid phone?
She yanked her purse off the side counter, shoving papers aside and chucking
toys. No cell phone. She cast a glance over her shoulder. She couldn’t see him.
She clutched the knife for supposed protection. Please. Please, don’t let him be in my house. She shivered and
looked at her kids. Jace stared back with wide eyes.
Natasha groaned. I
need that phone. The fridge. It has to be on the fridge. She ran past her
children, unable to stop and comfort Jace. What could she possibly say that would
reassure him with the way she was acting right now? She transferred the knife
to her left hand and snatched her cell phone off the fridge. Thank heavens.
“You know,” the man continued, “I made a mistake not killing
you the first time. I thought you were a better mom than this.” He clucked his
tongue. “That beautiful little girl—there was something about the way she
smiled at me. And your son acted so brave. They’re the reason I gave you the
chance to survive. You blew that chance.”
Natasha tried to push the correct buttons on her cell phone
as she ran to check the front door. Her pumping legs jostled her fingers. She
didn’t let herself look at Jace as she raced past. She couldn’t convince him
they were safe. She knew better.
Natasha rushed through the two-story foyer. Almost to the
glass front door, she saw the tall form on the porch. She screamed.
“Please, don’t scare the children,” the deep voice whispered
in her ear.
