My thoughts: I recently finished reading An Elegant Façade, a full length novel that share characters with this novella. I was excited when I found this story of two characters that I really enjoyed, the best part is that it was FREE for Amazon kindle.
This story is 159 pages. I felt like I was reading a full novel. Miss Amelia is an amazing character. She has been through many hard thing and comes out as the kindest, most tenderhearted person in London. (Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but she is amazing.) Her demeanor and kindness is spread through all social classes. She treats servants and gentry the same.
Anthony is a man who has a colorful past. He was once considered a rake, but has since found religion and forgiveness. His attraction to Amelia is instant and he can't get her out of his head. He feels unworthy of her. He is a man of honor.
This novella moved at a quick pace. The characters were developed and the plot well thought out. Kristi Ann Hunter is an author that I will continue to seek out. Now I need to read the book that comes between the two that I have read in this series, A Noble Masquerade.

So A Noble Masquerade is the 2nd book? It was the first book I've read by Kristi Ann Hunter. And I don't have a Kindle or any such thing. Will this new book come out in print? and is A Lady of Esteem the first book?
ReplyDeleteA Noble Masquerade is actually the first book. This is a short story that comes before the events in the book. This is the story of Anthony and Amelia, two good friends of Miranda and Trent. It doesn't need to be read to enjoy the series. It is a bonus. I believe it is only on Kindle and Nook. If you have a phone or tablet that you can put an app on, you can get this to read for free. The app is also free.
