52 Weeks to Fortify Your Family: 5-Minute Messages by Nicole Carpenter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Source: Received eBook to Review
Genre:Religious

Book Description:  Arm your children against the fiery darts of the adversary. These small and simple daily devotionals will help them make good decisions and strengthen their testimonies. Designed to get your family studying the scriptures, this book includes a new theme for each week and new scriptures, quotes, and questions for each day so you can discuss the gospel together. Quick and easy, this book will help keep your family close to the Spirit.

My thoughts: Each week of the year, this book focuses on one aspect that can be found in the scriptures. A scripture reference is found per day. The idea is that you take that scripture and discuss it with your family daily. For example: Week 4 focuses on Honesty. Monday the discussion topic is "Honesty means being truthful and sincere at all times. The Lord delights in honest and honest people." Each day of the week has a prompt that deals with the topic of honest, and then a corresponding scripture. At the bottom of the week there is a listing of thoughtful questions dealing with the topic.

I love that the book was written to help a family learn together. I think it is a great idea to focus on an area that can be worked on together. Hopefully, doing this exercise helps a family to learn and grow together as they discuss and learn.

I haven't tried to use this in my home, just read the weekly ideas. I received an eBook copy to review, I think it would be more useful to use in a family with a hard copy to look at together and take notes (taking notes is a suggestion at the beginning).

This book is targeted primarily to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Scripture references from the Book of Mormon are used.
