Blog Tour ~ Review of "Destiny's Fire" by Trisha Wolfe

Destiny's FireDestiny's Fire by Trisha Wolfe

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Source: Received to Review
Genre: Steampunk with paranormal
Publication date: January 10. 2012

Description from Goodreads: It’s the year 2040, and sixteen-year-old Dez Harkly is one of the last of her kind—part of a nearly extinct race of shape-shifters descended from guardians to the Egyptian pharaohs. Her home and her secret are threatened when the Council lowers the barrier, allowing the enemy race to enter the Shythe haven.

As the Narcolym airships approach, Dez and her friends rebel against their Council and secretly train for battle. Not only is Dez wary of war and her growing affection for her best friend Jace, but she fears the change her birthday will bring. When Dez’s newfound power rockets out of control, it’s a Narcolym who could change her fate… if she can trust him.

Dez’s guarded world crumbles when she discovers why the Narcos have really come to Haven Falls, and she's forced to choose between the race who raised her and the enemy she's feared her whole life.

My thoughts:Dez lives in a world of paranormal creatures and Steampunk technology. She is part of an ancient race of shifters. They were created as guardians for the ancient Pharaoh's. Her species is threatened by a similar species. They share many characteristics, they just have different powers.  They have been at war for a long time.  Almost to the brink of extinction.

Dez and her friends do not trust them. They try to discover the secrets that lead to the peace treaty and the evil designs behind them.

Dez learns there are many similarities between the two species and that she is a key to bringing them together. She learns to trust one of the young men who accompanied the peace keeping mission.  He plays a pivotal role in the story line.  He helps bring many of the decision made into fruition.

Trisha has written an amazing novel full of new ideas. I had a great time reading her book and having my imagination challenged. I do have a content warning. There is profanity and sexual situations.  If you love a love triangle, this book will definitely not disappoint you.
Trisha has a facebook page for the book.  There you can find out what is next for the characters.  Just go here to find it. :0)

Where can you find out more about the book?

There will be a grand prize giveaway. It will be on the last day of the tour.  You will want the prize.  I know you will.  It's pretty cool.
