Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!
Just do the following:
~Grab your current read.
~Open to a random page.
~Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page. (Sometimes I cheat a bit on this one and do a few more sentences.)
~Be careful not to include spoilers! (make sure that what you share doesn't give to much away. You don't want to ruin the book for others.)

This week my teaser comes from " The Girl of Fire and Thorns" by Rae Carson. I am reading on my kindle an ARC, so I do not have page numbers. I am 39% through the book. This passage could change with the completed product. Today is the release date. Happy Birthday to the book.
The days are interminable and hot, but I use the time to think. I resolve to appear cooperative
and unthreatening, for my survival depends on remaining with my
captors for now, on giving them no reason to kill me.
Love your teaser - I'll have to go back and see what this book is about!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Teaser from Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue! ~ Wendi
love the blog!! Here is my teaser. the title is Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay and from page 55.
ReplyDeleteHow long had they been here? The girl could not remember. She felt deadened, numbed. The days had mingled with the nights.
At one point she had been sick, bringing up bile, moaning in pain. She had felt her father's hand upon her, comforting her. The only thing she had in mind was her brother. She could not stop thinking about him. She would take the key from her pocket and kiss it feverishly, as if kissing his plump little cheeks, his curly hair.
Sharon, that sounds heart wrenching. Thanks for sharing your teaser here with us!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser. I have this on my TBR list.
