Review of "Sacrifice" (Crave #2)

Sacrifice (Crave, #2)Sacrifice by Melinda Metz &

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Source: Simon & Schuster Galley Grab
Genre: YA Paranormal
Age recommendation: Over 16
Release date: September 20, 2011

Description from Goodreads: Gabriel and Shay are convinced that they can make their relationship work. Knowing that Shay is half-vampire, Gabriel thinks that his coven will embrace her as one of their own, but instead they view her as an abomination, a thing that doesn’t belong in either world. And they want her dead. Now Gabriel must make the ultimate decision - watch his love be killed by his coven or defy the people closest to him, the people he has spent centuries with to save her.

My thoughts: Betrayal, greed, forgiveness and love are some if the themes found in the pages of this story.

Shay travels to Gabriel's home to find refuge with his family only to find herself the subject of long held prejudice. They must figure out how to conquer beliefs and ill will in both vampire and human minds.

In the end they have to look inside their own hearts if the are to find a way to be together.

This book is a great sequel. I would suggest reading "Crave" first. I loved the direction that the author's took the story and the self-discovery the characters went through.

I would not recommend to readers younger than 16 because of some slightly mature content.
