Roman & Jules by Stephanie Fowers

Roman & JulesRoman & Jules by Stephanie Fowers
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Genre: Contemporary Romeo and Juliet Retelling
Source:  Received to Review & Kindle Unlimited

Book Description:  When Jules meets Roman Verona at an exclusive Vegas party, she doesn’t suspect the bad blood that runs so deep between Roman and her boyfriend, Ty, until the two men have it out in front of her. Even worse, Jules finds out that Ty has never loved her. She storms away, only to have her ex’s sworn enemy offer her a ride into town... as well as a shocking proposal.

A nice girl wouldn’t even consider making her ex jealous with a sham marriage, so why does she chance it with Roman?

Acting the role of devoted husband, Roman soon becomes fascinated with more than Jules’s sweet smile and poetic soul. As her band’s fame grows in Vegas so do his feelings for her and what started out as revenge against his miserable cousin turns into something deeper.

But bad boys don’t settle down. So why does Roman risk everything to win Jules’ heart?

All bets are off in this modern and sleek tale of star-crossed love!

My thoughts: My goodness! I had a wonderful time reading this book. It is a contemporary retelling of Romeo and Juliet. Two star-crossed lovers come together in the middle of a family feud.

Roman is a bad boy living life in Vegas. He is rich, handsome, and is able to do as he pleases. He is also smart and calculating. His reputation is in shambles, but his cousin Ty is considered to be a "catch". I honestly feel like Roman is by far the better of the two.

Roman picks up the pieces of Jules as she is exiting a party that did not turn out with a happy ending for her. Roman has a plan and somehow gets Jules on board. A marriage of convenience in the chapel she laughingly pointed out to her ex-boyfriend, Roman's cousin Ty.

The best revenge is to find happiness and love with someone else! This story has many swoon-worthy moments and is a page-turner. It is a guilty pleasure to read that you can feel good about reading and sharing with friends.

Stephanie FowersAbout the Author: (Taken from Goodreads)  Stephanie Fowers loves bringing stories to life, and depending on her latest madcap ideas will do it through written word, song, and/ or film. She absolutely adores Bollywood and bonnet movies; i.e., BBC (which she supposes includes non-bonnet movies Sherlock and Dr. Who). Presently, she lives in Salt Lake where she's living the life of the starving artist. Stephanie plans to bring more of her novels out to greet the light of day. Be sure to watch for her upcoming books, including YA fantasy, science fiction, mysteries, steampunk, regency Greek fantasy, and more--many more--romantic comedies in her line of sweet romances called "Hopeless Romantics." May the adventures begin.
