Her first thought: "Who are you?"
It's the morning after her cousin's bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she's in a stranger's penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy…husband!
Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter…no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night!
Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell?
"I don't want a divorce."
Colleen's Thoughts: Megan has been burned too many times in relationships and has decided to go through artificial insemination in order to have the family she's always wanted. Conner watched his mother become incapacitated and eventually commit suicide because of loving someone she couldn't have. So, Conner has sworn off love altogether. However, he wants a family, one in which two devoted parents are dedicated to maintaining the traditional family. Conner meets Megan in Las Vegas. Megan gets drunk and tells Conner about her family plans. Conner, somewhat drunk too, tells her of his plans and the two decide to get married right then. The trouble is, the next morning Megan can't even remember who Conner is, let alone his "plans". Conner spends the rest of the book trying to convince Megan that his plans are better than hers and that they will work well together. Eventually they realize they've fallen in love - which throws another wrench into Conner's plans!
I admire the way Megan and Conner both try to rise above their personal upbringing and family situation to try to create what they wish they could have had. This book endeavors to convey the importance and value of marital devotion and the traditional family - a concept with which I whole-heartedly agree. However, the intimate moments are too detailed and explicit. There is also some crass and offensive language. This book is definitely for adults only.
Do you think the girl on the cover looks like AnnaSophia Robb?
