Blog tour - "Beside Two Rivers" by Rita Gerlach

Book Description:  Darcy’s story and the sequel to Before the Scarlet Dawn:
Eliza Morgan’s daughter seeks to unravel a lifetime of memories and the absence of her parents, unaware that the young Englishman who loves her holds the answers. Her search takes her far from her beloved home along the Potomac, to a manor house in faraway England.
Will she discover the secrets of the past and be reunited with the most important people in her life? Will Hayward and Eliza find peace and reconciliation? Will Darcy’s faith sustain her to make the difficult choices, and will love endure?

My thoughts:  Rita Gerlach has done a wonderful job at crafting a historical romance novel based on Christian principles.

I found the book to be well written and interesting.  The flow of the book reminds me of some of my favorite classic romances.  The book feels authentic for the time period.

I have not read the first book "Before the Scarlet Dawn".  I did not feel lost in this book. It could be a stand alone book instead part of a series.  I will however, be looking into reading the first.

I received this book to read as part of the book tour.

About Rita:  Rita Gerlach lives with her husband and two sons in a historical town nestled along the Catoctin Mountains, amid Civil War battlefields and Revolutionary War outposts in central Maryland.

"Inspirational romantic fiction is one way people can escape the cares of life and be transported back to a time of raw courage and ideal love," she says. "The goal of my writing is to give readers a respite, and inspire them to live fully and gratefully."
