Book Description: Lady Elise Henderson lives two separate lives. At home in Scotland, she’s the titled daughter of the Marquess of Roxbury, an heiress in her own right. In London, however, she’s Elise Taylor, a top MI6 operative for the “home office.” But when a devastating accident threatens to end her career, Elise is left with far too much time for self-reflection and the regret of a decision made long ago that features one man: fellow MI6 agent Harry Benson.
My thoughts: Third time's the charm? Lady Elise and Harry were college sweethearts. Years later they become M16 partners and have a second chance at love. Now, here they are, meeting again, only this time Elise has been in an accident and is taking medical leave and Harry is going to a new assignment in Scotland. He needs help and she needs a ride. Fate is throwing them together once again.
The chemistry between Elise and Harry simmers from the moment that he sees her in the M16 offices. He has always been in love with her but lived a separate life when things didn't work out. This gave him the blessing of a young son. His son proves a blessing to Elise while she takes care of him while Harry is on assignment. Is this a chance for her to experience motherhood and possible for them to reunite? You'll have to read the book to find out.
Paige Edwards did not disappoint. I know when I pick up one of her books I will be invested in a wonderful story. This is a page-turner that ramps up the suspense. There is the bonus of a precocious little boy to lighten things up. This is a story with many fantastic plot twists and elements that you are not going to want to miss.
