My thoughts: Rowena is full of fun and mischief. She missed her best friend while he was at war. They got into one escapade after another. Unfortunately, he came home somber. She must find a way to bring her best friend back to her, so she thinks of a brilliant plan. She want to play matchmaker for her widower father and his widow mother.

Her plan is more complicated than she first thought. First, Evan made a vow to his dying friend to take care of his younger sister, even marrying her if need be. Second, Evan is experiencing survivors guilt and not in the best frame of mind. Third, he just inherited an estate that is lacking in funds. There are many pressures on him and he feels honor bound to do the "right thing".

This book has some cute twists and turns. All is not as it seems. There are counter plots in the making. The book is a short and fun book to read for the pleasure of reading. I enjoyed my time engaged in the story. Because of the novella length, there isn't a lot of character development. The basics of their childhood are covered and their true character shines forth.  This book is perfect for Regency lovers who need a quick and satisfying story.

The book is clean with kissing.
