My Thoughts: When I started reading this book I double checked a couple of times to make sure that Diamond Rings are Deadly Things wasn't a sequel. I could tell that there was a back story, and because I have a hard time with missing pieces, wanted to know what it was. As soon as I realized that this was the first book, I knew that all of my questions would be answered. They were! That makes for a very happy reading experience.
I am a fan of Rachelle's books. I know that she is amazing at character development and setting a quick pace. This book lived up to my expectations.
Adrielle Pyper is an entrepreneur. She recently opened her own wedding planning business. To start things off she has two high profile weddings. They take up a huge chunk of her time and help her cope with the murder of her best friend.
Adri and her partner, Lorea, add wedding dresses to their services. The first shipment is vandalized and the mystery begins! Adri has an inquisitive mind and a strong will to have her business succeed. These two driving forces propel her into situations where pieces began to fit together and she uncovers the mystery.
There is a little bit of romance in the story. Adri has a lot on her mind and plate, she has a hard time finding the time to pursue a relationship. There are two potential romantic interests, but it's not a love triangle. Adri isn't a person to play games and is, for the most part, upfront about her feelings and intentions.
The book has some surprising twists and turns that kept me reading. I was very happy with the outcome of the book and hope that there will be more "Wedding Planner Mystery's" in the future.
