His One and Only Bride by Tara Randel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Source: Recieved to Review
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book Description: He never thought he’d see her again!
After being reported missing, presumed dead, globe-hopping photojournalist Mitch Simmons never thought he’d see his estranged wife, Zoe, again. Yet here he is back in their coastal Florida town, where Zoe is mayor. Turns out she isn’t the only one he left behind.
Discovering he has a baby son awakens thrilling new emotions in Mitch. And there are his still-powerful feelings for the high school sweetheart he vowed to love and honor forever. Thankfully, they’ll have the chance to find the love that was always there…
My thoughts: Imagine moving on with life after your husband has been missing and pronounced dead, only to find out that he is alive and recovering from severe injuries? This is what happens to Zoe. When he left two years earlier on a photo assignment, they were on the verge of divorce. Now that he is no longer dead, she must decide what is important to her an their one year old son.
This book looks at marriage relationships. The euphoria of falling in love is long past, their marriage is rocky at best, and what goals do each of them want to pursue. Is their marriage one of the goals? I enjoyed the emotions in the book. I felt like it captured the characters thoughts and the angst of their relationship.
There is also a bit of a side story. Mitch remembers danger and fear, although he lost his memory after the accident, there are flashbacks as things are coming back to him. He knows that all was not right with his situation. The book has mystery! That is a wonderful bonus for a reader.
If you love second chance romance with a bit of mystery you should pick this one up. It is part of a series, I have only read one of the other books but had no problem keeping up with this book. It can be read as a stand alone. It is clean with kissing.
