Book Description:
WHAT IF IMMORTALITY ISN’ T FOREVER?
KATE WINTERS HAS WON IMMORTALITY.
BUT IF SHE WANTS A LIFE WITH HENRY IN THE UNDERWORLD, SHE’LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT.
Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.
As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of
Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the
help of the one
person who is the greatest threat to her future.
Henry’s first wife, Persephone.
Colleen's Thoughts:
I have really enjoyed this series. I love Greek mythology, and usually like any re-tellings I can find. This is the sequel to The Goddess Test and is a contemporary setting. I liked that the Greek gods had all chosen more contemporary names, and although there was a key to who was who in the back of the book, I liked trying to figure it out on my own.
Kate and Henry ended the first book with a blossoming relationship. However, this sequel sees their relationship run the gauntlet in order to prove they are meant to be together. There are some very frustrating scenes, and some very touching scenes. There are a couple of innuendos, but nothing overwhelmingly disturbing.
I loved it. However, the ending is a huge cliff-hanger! I cannot wait for the next book!
This is on my wish list..lovely review. I am a new follower. You are showing up in my tribber stream and I have been tweeting your posts..Love your blog :)
ReplyDeleteThat dang cliffhanger killed me at the end I read it on my kindle so I was desperately clicking the "next page" button in hopes that wasn't the end. Glad you like the book I did as well even though Henry frustrates me. Can't wait for the next book.
