Blog Tour of Inherit the Throne

Today I have the opportunity to have an author stop by and visit.  He will be sharing with us his new thriller novel "Inherit the Throne.  To start off let's find out about the novel and then we'll turn the post over to Steve DeWinter!

Here is the book description from Goodreads:
"Just like "24", only better!" "A female Jason Bourne!" -- Textnovel Readers

Some lines should never be crossed.

Living under a new identity in the tiny Northwestern tourist town at the

base of Mount Hood, Melissa thought she had finally escaped her past. That is until an assassin tries to kill her and forces her back into a treacherous shadow world she vowed never to return.

That same night an unmanned robotic SUV slams into the limousine of the Vice President of the United States and detonates with several hundred pounds of explosives. Melissa soon discovers that the attack on the Vice President and the attempt on her own life are related.

And time is running out to find out who wants her dead and why she alone holds the key to saving the President of the United States.

Now let's hear from Steve!

If you like super-charged thrillers that merge high-tech gadgetry with ancient mythology and pit the outcast against powerful clandestine organizations, you are among friends.
My goal as a writer is to transport you to fresh and exciting worlds that not only take you on a white-knuckle ride but leave you hungry for more when you finally turn that last page and reluctantly slam shut the back cover of the book.
This is my promise to you the reader.
I will continue to satisfy your never-ending desire for more. So keep reading!
When one story ends, another begins.

Welcome, Steve! Could you tell us a little bit about your book?

I am so glad to be here today and I am always up for talking about my book. Inherit The Throne is an action/thriller that pits the little guy, or gal in my book’s case, against a larger and more powerful adversary. And despite all the odds against her, she succeeds in saving the United States from falling prey to the desires of a select few at the expense of the general populous.

What attracted you to the thriller genre?

My favorite stories always involved the average person standing up against the status quo, or the well connected enemy, and succeeding despite all the odds against them. And this type of story is most prevalent within the thriller genre. When I look at all the books that I have read over the course of my lifetime, I most enjoyed reading spy thrillers, action thrillers, horror thrillers, etc. Thrillers were the most common thread in what I enjoyed reading regardless of the overall genre.
The brain has a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality and produces the same chemical responses whether we are experiencing a situation first hand, watching a movie or even just reading a book. Writers just starting out are advised to write what you know and, having “experienced” so many thrillers in my life, what I knew was thrillers. And boy do I love writing thrillers as much as I love reading them.

In your opinion, what makes a good book?

While writing professionals will pontificate on the significance of plot, characters, story, genre, etc., for me, if you look at the clock and realize that you should have been asleep hours ago, or are now very late for something, that is a good indicator that you are holding in your hands a great book. I guess that makes me a pretty easy to pleasereader. But if it entertained me, then I would say it was a good book.

Thanks for stopping by, Steve!

And thanks again for letting me stop by to bare my soul and share my novel.

  3. Thanks C.E. That has always been my litmus test for whether it was a good story for me. I try not to get too analytical with my entertainment.
